About Scot Silver

Scot's roots are in West Philly, and music has been part of his life from the very beginning. After earning the Hal Simons award for 'Excellence in Music' in high school, Scot attended West Chester University and studied under Glenn Lyons for Classical Guitar and Pedagogy. Glenn himself graduated from the Peabody Institute. During these years, Scot performed in and with The West Chester Classical Guitar Ensemble.

All the while, Scot continued his private tutelage with Chuck Anderson. Mr. Anderson, a former pupil of the famed Dennis Sandole, noted himself for instructing a Mr. John Coltrane, shaped Scot's abilities and expanded his musical horizons*. It was thru these gurus that Scot was able to appreciate all things music. Not just one confining style, but the beauty of multiple idioms. It was post-college that our young traveler embarked on his performing.
